Tools and Materials

The Engineering Creation Kit has everything you need for this project and many more from STEM Inventions, or get the supplies in bulk:

Hot glue gun
Glue sticks
Masking tape
Craft sticks

Syringe and tubing kit
1/2" craft cubes
Cubes with holes
4" cable ties

Optional:

Wheels
Straws
1/8" dowels

Tips and Troubleshooting

If the machine isn't raising very high, then...

There may not be enough water in the syringes. Add water until there's a total of 10ml between both syringes (not including water in the tubing).
The syringe may be taped too high up on the upright structure. Make sure the syringe is empty and the moving piece is pointing down before taping.
